Friday Five: Creative websites to visit

1. Newest obsession:

Too many....head spinning.....won't be able to sleep......*sigh*

Words of wisdom

We've all heard it or seen it before. Just do it. Be awesome today. $30 framed original illustration.
 Paul ($30) Original dictionary illustration
 Helium Love ($30 framed)
Here is what the big painting looks like above a couch (shhh, it's hiding a HUGE hole in the wall..oops!) Don't mind the ugly couch, someday it shall vanish and a nice leather one will appear in it's place...when I get my super powers.
....and my dog....who seems to think the kitchen table is a great place for her sweet doggie butt.  I beg to differ.

Re-loved art

This lovely framed hanging piece of artwork used to have a dismal still life on it....until I rescued it.
Now it's ready for a new home.
It's as big as my table (if that gives you any indication on how large it is) someone ran off with my tape measure!

I also scored this HUGE piece of artwork that I re-purposed and will's just a blank canvas now.....ideas?
Funky Guitar ($100)

This was my weekend project!  I scored this metal storage locker at a garage sale for a whopping $1. I know, it was quite the financial sacrifice.  Spray paint was $3.79 for a grand total of about $5.  Voila! New shoe/key/mail storage locker for the door!

Friday Five: Creative websites to visit

Happy Friday. The weekend is here. It's bearable weather here in the midwest.

Speaking of Midwest, I'm making my Christmas list now. Here is one thing that I want.....

Love it.

....there is an AC Slater shirt however......tough call.

Anyways! Here is what you've been waiting on pins and needles the entire week for. I know you have. Enjoy these pretty and creative websites!

Happy weekend!

Girl with the red flower

As an artist there are certain subjects I stay away from.  Like people.  They end up looking mutant or like a cartoon.  I came to the realization that my people don't have to look like people. They have to look like whatever I want.  There are no rules for people painting (or at least none that I am aware of!) This painting took some guts. You can laugh now, but I am super self conscious about lots of things in my life and painting people is one of them.  So I bit the bullet.  I think she came out rather nice!

Girl with the red flower ($125)
I scored these windows from Olin Hall (from the Cornell Campus! I actually lived in this dorm when I was there!) I am so excited about them. If I had a garage it would be full to the brim.  This one is HUGE
Achoo ($150)
Here are some of the ones I scored. They have some with panes as well. I have connections :)
Before (textured bathroom windows)
After some love ($75) No Peeking!

This one is HUGE! Heat Wave ($125) It is so much cooler up close, there is a sliver background behind the yellow and the bottom of the tree is a map collage.  You'll just have to come see it for yourself.
