Score!

My buddy Sherry decided to dive in to the world of curb side garbage snagging (that's the official term, I'm certain) and scored me these awesome windows. I have people! It's good to have people!! This is called Shopping Bag because I saw a similar design on a shopping bag once. ($150)
Here is a close up detail of the window.
Still love the window, only there is a tiny crack across one of the panes. You can't see it because it's covered in paint. Cracked ($50)
Dueling Guitars ($100)
I am most excited about this score. Driving home from purchasing art supplies I came upon this bad boy in the garbage. My poor kids had to scrunch their legs up so I could fit it in the back seat. All for the sake of art! Modern Poppies ($150) Isn't it great?

Happiness

Big news on the creative front! I was given the opportunity to do a teen room at a clinic for kids up in Hiawatha. I am so stoked! It's right up my alley. I'm going to do five windows with a funky theme (see above) and then some awesome, "swirlies" in the corner of the room. I'll be sure to post photos when I'm done! Here is one of the windows I'm going to use, it's called, "Happiness is knocking at your door."

How true. Happiness is knocking at all of our doors, you just have to let it in!!
Oops! sorry about the orientation on this one....really! It's a funky chalk message board. Circle one says TO BUY then CALL and finally TO DO! It works....hence the chalk writing! Thanks for the inspiration Nickie!! ($35)

Here is another one of my thrifty projects. I found and old post at a garage sale for $3, painted it white, bought hardware for $5 and Voila! The boys have a place to hang their coats and backpacks!
Here is my other thrifty find....actually it was free. On the street corner, complete with a glass top. Makes a marvelous desk. My husband is thrilled to have his very own drawer.

Martha's Rug

I am in love with these colors for fall. Golden oranges, tans and mustards. This one is called Martha's Rug because I saw a rug in a Martha Stewart Living magazine and was inspired. ($100)

Gigantor

Here is a storm window that my buddy and fellow collector or cool things helped me score. One of them went to her sister in law (see below) and the other is waiting for a new home. They are about 5ft by 3ft....that is a lazy form of measuring by the way. You know you want it.

Simple eye flowers with a clear background (frame can be painted as well!) $75

God Bless America

I have had this huge vintage window sitting in my mudroom for a while, it was staring me down every time I went in there. I finally decided to give it some love. Here is what I came up with. The lyrics to God Bless America are in the background. I really like it and wish I a blank wall (which is hard to find in an artists house!!) to hang it on. Instead I hope it can go to someone else who will love it too! God Bless America ($125)

Custom orders

I've had a slew of custom orders for windows as well as wedding, baby and anniversary gifts. I LOVE making things for people and making them exactly how they want. There's nothing better than when you show them your creation and they say, "That is exactly what I wanted!"

If you want to get a hold of me, just click on the contact button on the right side of the blog and you'll find all of my info. Just shoot me an email and tell me what you want.

Remember it's never to early to start thinking about Christmas presents!!

Have a great weekend!
