Friday Five: Creative websites to visit

Make it personal

This is a sign for a friend who lives in Colorado (hence the aspen trees) They were married last year and love all things outdoors. I love making things personal for weddings, babies, birthdays, anniversaries...you name it. Never store bought, can't be replicated and it's personal! Yes, it may be considered pretty or cute (two words an artist doesn't want to hear) but as long as they like it, we're all good. Signs can be mailed anywhere too (not so much the windows)

Getting ready

Here is a big pile of tags that I just painted for the show. My first love has always been illustration. Someday I'm going to write and illustrate my own children's book....someday!
I also finished a stack of broach/pins that you can pin on just about anything (hats, coats, purses, bags, shirts) They'll be at the show too!!
And then there is the fabric!! Oh yes, this fabric really needs to go bye bye. It's taking up so much space in my house and I don't have a sewing machine. I'll give you a good deal!!

So if you're in the Mt.Vernon area on Friday afternoon and Saturday, please stop by! I'll be in the booth in front of City Hall and the Fire Station.

A mound of art

I made this for a good friend and her new husband. They were just married this past weekend and are moving to New Orleans (hence the jazzy music!)
A restored old frame with one of my favorite lines from a hymn ($35)
This window has reflective mirror paint behind it so you can see (kind of) yourself in it! It can be hung either horizontal or vertical. ($75)
Miles to go before we sleep ($75) The bottom where the roots of the tree are is made of a map. You can't see the colors very well but the trees are a golden yellow.
Give all to Love ($30)
When we all get to heaven ($30)
Be a friend ($30)
Four stars (smaller window) $60
It is well with my soul ($30)
Retro pears ($30)
Aged to perfection (skinny window) $75

I'll be at Heritage Days this Friday and Saturday is the weather cooperates! Hope to see some you there!!
