Signs!

I do apologize for the shoddy photography, I was too excited to wait until proper lighting or more like daylight got here. It's a canvas with vintage hymns and a verse from the hymn I Surrender All on the vase. ($45)
My favorite quote from Abe Lincoln. Wood plaque ($35)
Welcome sign ($35) Ready to hang.
This is for Audra but I thought I'd show you a quick photo before it is whisked away to welcome people.

New Windows baby!

I just picked up some new windows last night and they rock. They're pretty rare and it pretty good shape. Just waiting for an inspiration (or a special order) so I can start painting. The green can also be painted over, don't let that scare you.
This pile is from my Uncle Doug who helped replace a bunch of windows in an old house. He saved 14 back for me.....14!!! I'd better get going!
I really like this one. It can go either horizontal or vertical. So may possibilities!

This one is pretty marvelous as well. There is a tiny crack, but it shouldn't hurt and can be painted over. I love the tiny squares at each corner.

Let the painting begin!

So I'm open to any ideas or orders or suggestions, I love hearing from you!

Waves

This little canvas of waves proved to be quite a challenge for me. It's out of my "comfort" zone but I think it turned out okay. It was a special request from a friend in Arizona (oh how I wish I was in Arizona right now!) Hope she likes it!

Inspiration

Just a few little odds and ends from my piles upon piles of art. I have slowly taken over the kitchen table because my, "art space" is 1. not heated (poor cold little paint bottles) and 2. The dog/garage/mud room is just that.....muddy and doggie. The boys have learned to leave the art supplies alone, but the other day I caught Brody playing with scissors and I'm certain it will not the be last time! He lives life on the edge.
I stumbled upon an old hymnal and am LOVING the words from the old hymns. Such an inspiration and truly beautiful. I'm trying to get more things done for the art night and wine tasting on February 13th. I hope some of you locals peeps can make it.

Hope you had a wonderful weekend, it was my birthday! I might use some birthday money for art supplies :)

Check out this website. You put in words or your blog address and it creates art from those words! Pretty snazzy. http://www.wordle.net/show/wrdl/1577377/make_some_art Here is one from this blog.

I sing becuase I'm happy

I am very inspired by the lyrics to hymns these days. They are beautiful. This is done on a piece of vintage music and it's the lyrics to Be Thou My Vision. I'm not sure if I'll frame it or leave it as is......ideas? It doesn't look quite finished yet.
I sing because I'm happy. Long board, acrylic and vintage music birds ($35)

Soul Mates

Sorry about the lighting, I did it late at night and the windows were shut. Framed 4x6 watercolor/pen. Soul Mates $20.
Once again, the colors of the flowers are much brighter. This is painted on vintage sheet music with watercolor pencils, acrylic and pen. Framed 8x10 ($40)

I've really missed painting with my watercolors and pen. They have always been what I come back to. I have so many ideas and project using different medias floating around in my head at all times that it's hard to choose just one!

A Doodle Doo!

Be Mine (canvas) $40 Collage/painting
A Doodle Doo (window) $125
Tags!! Valentines tags....wine tags....love tags...funny tags....I love tags! ($ 2 and $3 each)

Trying to get motivated to get things done for the art night in February! I have visions of grandeur but they are getting side tracked with a little one with croup and an ear infection. I busted out the sewing machine.....we shall see. I might end up sewing my hand.....

Recycle

22"x22" smaller window Here is is without the flash to show what color it really is. There is texture behind the paint, but you can't see that very well in the photo.
($75)

Funky. 22x22" ($75)

Branching out into funky. I'm not into abstract as much as I want to be, but I tried this. Do these windows look familiar? They previously had two lemons on them but were not selling so I recycled them into something better! They are lighter and ready to be hung from a wall!

New Year, new windows!

After taking a tiny break from doing any more windows (hoping to sell more so more can be made.....taking offers too!) I have had the urge to paint on them again. The urge never really left, it just was hanging out somewhere warmer. I have a fresh supply of paned windows waiting for me from my Aunt. Unfortunately, it's about 24 degrees in the room where I do my art. The dog room. The mud room. The art room. I think half of my paint might be frozen! So if you have ideas or just want a special order for your house, room or a gift, let me know!
