Casey's car

This was done for our Brass Band director who is having his 1961 Buick Invicta re-done? Is that a word? I don't know car....but they're making it all pretty again. I painted a picture of his car or what it will look like and the band signed around it and we had it framed.

I can do this for you too!

Kelly's window

28 x 22 inches. ($200) My buddy Kelly did this sweet window and is putting it up for sale. It is filled with little pieces of glass. When you put it up to the window and the light shines through, it looks pretty cool. Yet another use for old windows! Let me know if you're interested!

Baby Zucchini

I did this for some friends who just had a baby boy. Their last name is Zuccharelli and needless to say, their nicknames have always had something to do with a zucchini. So when I found out that they were having a baby, I was super excited to get to draw and paint a baby zucchini. Weird..I know. So here is the baby zucchini.....pretty cute huh? Did I mention how much I love pen and ink and watercolor? I think I might focus on that for a while......it's a lot smaller!

Two loves

I found this cool vintage music and have been wanting to paint on it for a while. I had a few friends ask for music and wine related works. I tried this today, being stuck inside during a blizzard. The photo isn't very clear, as it was hard to find a bright spot and I had to use my flash. 11x17 framed ($45)

It's got these cool little "feet" on the bottom.
Up against a yellow wall....my happy yellow kitchen wall.

Montana Landscape and Arbor Day

This is for my little bro and his lovely wife. She is from Montana and he was stationed there and that's where they met and married. It's a beautiful state and I would love to live there someday. I tried my hardest to do a landscape, it was mighty hard. It's more abstract than anything, but it turned out okay.
This is called "Arbor Day," and behind the trees is a poem about nature and trees. You can't see it in the picture but it's pretty cool. It's on a 125 year old window. ($100)

OPEN HOUSE...again! I got the opportunity to showcase more of my windows in Mount Vernon on December 10th and 17th (two Thursdays) in the evenings. It will be at the Mindful Massage in downtown Mt.Vernon. More details coming soon!

Christmas Cards!

Here are two cards I designed this year. I know what a hassle it is and how it stinks that everyone else has the exact same card as you. Let me design your photo card (printed on photo paper 4x6 or 5x7) Send me your photo or photos, I'll design and you print them where you love to print photos. They can be as simple or complex as you'd like. Easy as pie. $15

A family tree

This is one of three windows I'm doing for a family of 11....yes, 11! They tore the old windows out of their marvelous Victorian farm house and gave a few to me (thank you!) and I'm in the process of doing three so they can hang them back in their house. This is the first one, finished this morning. I love it. Those are old hymns in the background and the tree is an old oak tree that resides on their farm. I love being able to take a little of their life and put it into art. I hope they like it! The other two are of a windmill and their huge red barn. Hopefully they will turn out as nicely as this one.

Commissioned works

These two windows are done for a lady in Mount Vernon who wanted her wall color to be seen through them. This one is done on a big black storm window. The other window I spotted picking up Baylor from preschool, got a few odd looks from the other preschool parents while I was filling my trunk with windows! Hey, they wanted to get rid of them!

Ugh. A mess I suppose......not a fan at all....I keep trying to fix it and it gets worse and worse....

Copy and Paste

So these are a special order for a lady who just gave birth to twin girls. What a cute idea! I just used fabric pen and free handed them.
This little piece of work....on wood...not sure how I feel. It wasn't what I wanted to do, I just did it. I'm on the hunt for some cheap canvases so I can get a few done before the open house! Eeek, it's coming up isn't it?

A little sampling....

Here is just a sampling of the gift tags I have been working on.....
I'm a little behind on art making because of a sick Brody and a sick mommy so I need to get my butt in gear this coming week. We're hoping for a good showing!

Mark your calendars!

Sorry it's so small....just click on it and it shall become BIG!

Sunday, October 25, 2009

You're very welcome...

I've become a little obsessed with the welcome signs lately. I think it's because I always like to create things that can be used or hung in the house. This one measures a shade under two feet and six inches. Those are little black birds if you can't tell from the photo. ($30) I'm trying to get ready for the art open house (Nov. 14th) and need some smaller things!

Got any ideas? Christmas cards or ornaments?

Friday, October 23, 2009

You name it....round two.

This could actually hang without a name in the middle, I just left a space there, open for possibilities. I also left some of the wood grain showing because I liked the way it looked, kind of like the evening sky. It's done on wood and can be hung or set or nailed...you name it. It would make a marvelous Christmas gift (sorry, had to do a shameless plug!) ($30 and it's a hair under two feet by six inches)

You name it....

This is blank for a reason. The reason being I'm waiting to put a name on it....like "The Does" The name would run down the side and you could hang this in your house....just in case you forgot what your last name was. You name it, I paint it. (personalized name sign $30)
